Carl Ludowici purchased Celadon Roofing Tile in 1906 . Ludowici-Celadon was sold to CSC in 1976, and purchased and renamed by CertainTeed in 1989. Ludowici Roofing Tile merged in 2003 with Europe’s Terreal group, but maintains the famous Ludowici tile heritage in North America.

The Ludowici Warranty

A Ludowici tile roof has a 75 year warranty and is offered in many colours, numerous surface textures and customized treatments . Clay tiles are manufactured as barrel shaped tiles, flat shingles, interlocking tiles, and designer products emulating slate and shakes.

Clay products are more expensive than laminated asphalt shingles but less expensive than copper, zinc, or slate roofing.

Installation:

Clay tiles should be installed by experienced professionals. A roof with a minimum 5/12 slope is recommended. Roofing structures must be built to carry the substantial weight of clay tiles.
