PABCO Roofing Products recently celebrated 25 years of manufacturing asphalt/fiberglass roof shingles from its Tacoma, Washington base. The company was formed when Pacific Coast Building Products purchased CertainTeed’s west coast operations. The firm makes traditional 3-tab, laminated, and signature-cut dimensional shingles which are distributed through a dealer network. PABCO products are specified by builders and designers for new construction and residential reroofing.

PABCO shingles follow the current industry conventions, offering 30, 40, and 50-year limited warranties (depending on the product line). PABCO’s economy shingle is the SG-30® 3-tab, available in a dozen colors. An affordable roofing choice, it is wind rated to 60 mph.
Their Premier® line offers “distinctive shadowing and random patterns” in 12 blended colors. Wind protection for this heavier grade ranges from 70 to 90 mph, depending on selected weight/warranty. Scotchgard-brand algae protection is optional. PABCO’s Precise® brand is an unusual laminated shingle using a triangle cut in three muted color choices (40-year, 100 mph). Cascade™ offers a similar distinctive diamond pattern in 4 Gothic-themed color blends (50-year, 110 mph).
Top of the line is Paramount® and Paramount Advantage® signature cut shingles are designed for larger-scale roofs. They use an unusual puzzle-piece cut design in five traditional colors, 7 for Advantage. Both include 50-year warranties, algae protection 110 mph ratings. All PABCO dimensional shingles use cut, laminated layers of varying weights.
