Tamko Shingles Company Overview

Tamko Building Products was founded originally  as a roofing business in 1944 in Joplin, Missouri by E.L Craig. The company expanded substantially and continues to produce roofing shingles and many  other building products. A family-operated business, Tamko operates across North America but remains headquartered in Missouri.

The Tamko Warranty

Tamko produces three  lines of shingles including 4-way locking Metalworks®  steel shingles in a variety of colors,  Lamarite®  Composite Slate and Shakes in three colours, and  standard 3-tab asphalt and  laminated fibreglass  asphalt shingles in a wide selection of colors. Warranties offered vary from 30 to 50 years depending upon the product chosen.

Cost
Standard asphalt shingles and  laminated architectural shingles are less expensive than steel shingles, and far  less expensive than high-end slate and cedar shake roofs they may emulate.  Lightweight Tamko steel shingles are less expensive than copper or the slate roofing.

Tamko Shingle Installation
Installation varies with the product chosen. Tamko shingles may be installed using common shingling methods. Interlocking steel shingles must be installed as per the manufacturer’s instructions and should not be installed on roofs with a slope of 3 /12 or less.

Lamarite®  composite shingles are durable and long-lived, having a Class A fire rating and a Class 4 impact rating.

Aesthetics
In addition to standard asphalt 3-tab shingles, additional  styles, colours and architectural designs are offered by Tamko, including Metalworks® steel shingles having  the appearance of slate or shakes.   A wide variety of attractive choices is offered  for any roofing application solution .

Warranty
Lamarite®  composite and steel shingles carry a 50 year limited warranty and the 7 Year Full Start program warranty.  The warranty is transferable within the first two years.  Laminated shingles  are covered by 30 year limited warranties.  The customer must carefully  note and understand all details that apply to the product chosen.
